Every love story is special, but ours has been years in the making.

We first met as sophomores at the University at Albany, and let’s just say our journey started with some friendly competition—Sam absolutely crushed Mike in a game of beer pong that very first night. From that moment on, our friendship grew, filled with laughter, late-night talks, and maybe a hint of something more.

Life brought us even closer when we became roommates during COVID, sharing memories, movie nights, a lot more games of beer pong and way too many inside jokes. For six years, we built a long lasting friendship between two people who just happened to be perfect for each other. Then, in March of 2023, during a visit, we finally admitted what everyone else probably already knew—this was more than friendship. From that moment on, there was no looking back.

Now, we share a life filled with love and laughter in Holbrook, New York, and on February 11, 2025, during a dreamy Valentine’s getaway in Punta Cana, Mike got down on one knee under the moonlit sky, with the ocean waves as our witness, and asked Samantha to marry him. Through tears, excitement, and overwhelming joy, she said yes!
